GET THINNER WITH PROTEIN.

It seems that increasing your consumption of protein could help you lose weight. Along with the high-protein diets that enable you to drop extra pounds, scientists believe that proteins could also act as natural and healthy appetite suppressants.
It has been established and proven on many occasions that having a high proportion of protein in your diet, instead of filling in on added sugar products and carbohydrate, for example, can genuinely be weight loss tool. The theory is rather simple, and it appears to be one of the most efficient ways of losing weight by dieting.
Over the years, our consumption of protein, through meaty products mainly, has notably increased. Nowadays, nutritional diets containing over 30% of the protein are not considered as high-protein diets by health and nutrition specialists. These terms now refer to feeding habits including over 50% of protein.
The principal of high-protein diets is to “change” your fuel source. Normally, your body uses sources of energy that are easy to transform, and that’s generally carbohydrates. Carbohydrates can be found in aliments such as bread, bananas or potatoes. The energy found in fat and meat is not used as much. So if you have a balanced diet, a lot of the energy present in the protein you ingest is not used by your body on a short-term basis. Your body uses this energy as an “emergency stock”. It saves it for later, in case you have to skip a meal for whatever reason, and there are no carbohydrates available for some time.
And your body stocks energy through fat that links with your body’s soft tissues, like the ones in your muscles, around your organs, and beneath your skin. When you have no carbohydrates inside your digestive system, your body will start “pumping” energy out of your stocks of body fat, and that is when you “burn” the fat.
So it’s easy to see that if you reduce a number of carbohydrates in your diet by protein, you will be consistently burning your body’s stock of fat, and in the process losing weight and shaping up nicely. Protein is also the main component of muscle cells. So the more protein you eat, given you have a fair amount of physical activity in your life, the more you have a chance of seeing your muscles grow. And burning you excess fat plus growing your muscle can only end up in an appreciable result, both on your looks and on your health.
But scientists now start focusing on another interesting aspect of protein: their actions on the brain and our hormone creation processes. Researchers believe that proteins can actually act as a natural appetite suppressant.
The studies are yet to provide any results on the matter, but the experts seem extremely optimistic about the future of protein in the battle, the war even, between science and overweight. So watch out for the future publications, and start getting fair amounts of protein in your meals!
